Hypnotherapy for Soul Retrieval
Hypnotherapy for Soul Retrieval refers to the combination of two distinct approaches: hypnotherapy and the spiritual concept of soul retrieval. Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to induce a trance-like state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, often to address various psychological or emotional issues. On the other hand, soul retrieval is a spiritual concept from shamanic and indigenous traditions with the belief that trauma or distress can cause the soul to fragment, and healing involves retrieving and reintegrating these lost parts to restore a sense of wholeness.
When these two concepts are combined using hypnotherapy techniques to explore and potentially address issues related to soul fragmentation or emotional distress. The individual could access their subconscious mind and work on integrating fragmented aspects of their soul that may have resulted from past traumas or difficult experiences. This combination might be seen as a way to combine psychological and spiritual approaches to healing and personal growth.
What is Soul Loss?
The soul is the part of us that is our life energy and shows itself in our personality. It is the part of us that thinks, senses, feels emotions and has memories.
Soul loss can happen when someone experiences stressful situations in their life like accidents, experiencing abuse -physical, mental, and emotional- , after breakups or divorce, after periods of prolonged grief, bullying, community violence, death of a loved one and many other situations. These situations can cause a part of our soul or essence to leave in order to function in the world. Because our soul is who we are, a person experiencing soul loss often feels incomplete and not like themselves, may experience depression, anxiety, PTSD, lack of enthusiasm or self-confidence, feeling stuck in life, shame, loss of memory, inability to give or receive love, and dysfunctional relationships.
Utilizing hypnotherapy, the client is able to access the healing that is needed to reclaim those parts of the soul and essentially be more in alignment with themselves and their greatest potential and wholeness. We do this by relaxing the mind and allowing the client to become aware of the dysfunctional pattern created through the initial trauma, allowing them to release it and access the soul part that has left and reintegrate it back into their body. This brings wholeness to the individual and allows them to now function from this more whole place. Individuals that have experienced soul retrieval hypnotherapy often say that they feel they now have a new perspective, greater ability to make decisions, feel hopeful, a greater ability to deal with negative emotions and are able to let go of bad experiences, feel more safe and alive, experience overall better health and wellbeing. After integrating the soul part, the individual will be able to access the skills, knowledge, abilities and strengths that were a part of them prior to the traumatic experience. This in turn makes the individual able to access their joy and vitality.
What to Expect
We begin our sessions discussing any particular issues that are of concern to the individual. Your hypnotherapist will then lead you through a deeply relaxing visualization with hypnosis. Within the session your issue will be explored and cleared by going to the source of the soul loss, releasing the emotions associated with that experience that were not able to be expressed at that moment in time, and then integrating the soul part that is now ready to come back to the individual. Each session can address a different issue, more set in issues may require more treatment. Hypnotherapy sessions are an effective and a powerful tool to address those long term issues standing in your way to better health, happiness and mental/emotional well being.
Remember that individual experiences can vary widely. Some might find profound healing through this combination, while others might not resonate with the spiritual aspect. Always prioritize your well-being and make informed decisions that are right for you.
Here are some potential things that an individual might expect or experience after a session
Emotional Release and Relief: If the session involved exploring and addressing emotional wounds or traumas, an individual might experience a sense of emotional release and relief. This could include a cathartic release of suppressed emotions and a feeling of lightness.
Insights and Self-Reflection: Hypnotherapy often allows individuals to access deeper layers of their thoughts and memories. After a session, one might expect to have gained insights into their own thought patterns, behaviors, and past experiences.
Integration and Wholeness: If the concept of soul retrieval was incorporated, an individual might expect to feel a greater sense of integration and wholeness. They might perceive that certain fragmented aspects of themselves have been integrated back into their psyche.
Calm and Relaxation: Hypnotherapy tends to induce a state of deep relaxation. After a session, an individual might experience a sense of calm and relaxation that could last for a period of time.
Energized or Drained: Depending on the intensity of the session and the emotions explored, an individual might feel either energized or emotionally drained. Processing deep emotions can be both invigorating and exhausting.
Clarity and Focus: Some individuals report experiencing increased mental clarity and focus after a hypnotherapy session. This might be a result of gaining insights and resolving emotional conflicts.
Integration Time: After a session, individuals might need time to process the experiences and emotions that were brought to the surface. It’s not uncommon to reflect on the session and its implications over the following days or weeks.
Variability in Experiences: Just as with any therapeutic or self-exploration process, experiences can vary widely. Some individuals might have profound and transformative experiences, while others might experience subtler shifts or changes.
Discussion and Integration with Practitioner: It’s possible that a practitioner would offer a debriefing or follow-up discussion to help the individual integrate their experiences and insights from the session.
It’s important to remember that the responses outlined above are hypothetical and based on combining the concepts of hypnotherapy and soul retrieval. The effectiveness of any therapeutic approach, including those with spiritual or metaphysical elements, depends on the individual’s beliefs, the practitioner’s skills, and the person’s unique experiences and needs. If you’re considering such a session, it’s advisable to communicate openly with the practitioner, manage your expectations, and engage in self-care afterward to process your experiences.
I have been receiving care from Marie for over 30 years, through several of her many healing modalities. Marie recently suggested that I do some hypnotherapy with her, since I have been going through a challenging and difficult life transition. Our remote session was much, much more powerful and transforming than I expected, even as her approach is gentle, safe and relaxing. It feels as though a lasting, even permanent shift took place, reducing my anxiety and increasing my sense of self-confidence. Marie is a gifted and accomplished healer, and I wholeheartedly recommend her.
